Mathdoc has organised two study days on October 14 and 15, 2025 in Grenoble to mark its 30th anniversary.
The first day was devoted to a review of Mathdoc’s achievements and partnerships. There was also a round table discussion on the following question: why structure and preserve mathematical documentation? The aim was to explain why Mathdoc was created, to talk about the importance of the bridge between documentation and publishing, and to discuss the current threats to the sustainability of access to documentation and possible solutions.
The second day was devoted to scientific publishing. Its theme was the opportunities and challenges for those involved in open access scientific publishing in 2025. The morning session focused on the sustainability of open access diamond business models, and ways in which journals and platforms can diversify their resources. In the afternoon, the scientific and technical opportunities and risks associated with recent technological developments (such as AI) have been discussed.
